Hi everyone 😀Β

We've seen that many followers and members are very much into thrifting and acquiring their fabrics for their projects and also thrifted in order to resell.

An amazing way of slowing down the fast fashion cycle 😊 preventing clothes going to landfill and giving them a second life.

Our thoughts are to create a separate category just for all thrifting talks, e.g

Different charity shops and areas you like to get your items from, different markets, garage / car boot sales?

A place for many that want to gift or sell their bags of old clothing and fabric to upcyclers.

What do you think about this? Or shall we just keep the clothes and accessories category for this kind of thing?

Let us know if you have any ideas, this forum is for you all so and we want to create the best way for all upcyclers to connect 😎Β

Thanks again,

Upcycler Life

There is also a projects section of the forum too for somewhere to showcase your projects, gain feedback and collaborate with others 😊

To me upcycling is not just about saving money. I understand there is a buzz involved in buying something cheap and re using it. However my reasons for upcycling are more about not wasting resources and at the same time coming up with a unique item.

i make jewellery so fabrics are not relevant to what I do. Tips and ideas are of more interest than sourcing materials.

i do admire all those clever Upcyclers who can spot a bargain and turn a profit though.

i think our job as upcyclers whether it is for profit or for fun should also evolve encouraging others to upcycle. The more people who are new to the concept can be encouraged to have a try the better it is for the environment.

I think it’s a good idea to make separate thrifting category!
