help with chalk paint
Hi thanks for accepting me onto the forum. I'm planning a chalk paint project for my daughter. She doesn't like the commercially available colours so I googled how to make your own and have bought some calcium carbonate to mix with normal emulsion tester pots I got from B&Q. It sticks well to the furniture but has quite a grainy rough feel to it. Back to google - I then found someone who suggested to rub the surface down with some wet, fine grained sandpaper, which worked a treat and resulted in a nice smooth finish, except... I now have tiny lighter coloured dots all over the piece where the grain was rubbed off and obviously hadn't completely soaked up the paint... Can anyone hep with some tips on how to get it right?
